Victory draws praise for Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s incredible victory in the match against New Zealand drew praise from around the world.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan was full of high praise for the Bangladesh duo Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad. In a twitter post he said: “Can’t remember seeing a better ODI partnership than this one .... Must Win game, 33 for 4,ball was swinging ... #CT17 #BestEver”

Vaughan commemorated Bangladesh's victory at the end of the game with another tweet saying: "Night all ... Another great day for Cricket ... #Tigers".

The Kolkata Knight Riders congratulated Shakib Al Hasan on scoring a fantastic century under pressure.

Former England Cricketer Ian Bell tweeted: “What a game that was from @BCBtigers!! Looking forward to attending tomorrows @englandcricket game even more now! #massive #ENGvAUS #CT17”

Former English batsman Mark Butcher also complemented Bangladesh on winning under pressure in a twitter post.

Meanwhile, commentator Harsha Bhogle praised the teams' transformation and said: "There was a time when teams used to go to Bangladesh and wish the home team batted first so the game got over early. What a transformation!"

Kritika Naidu from Cricbuzz also cheered Bangladesh's victory and posted: "That reaction from skipper Masrafe said it all. Too cute! :) #NZvBAN #CT17."

Legendary Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara said in his twitter: "Outstanding effort by @BCBtigers. Well batted @Sah75official and Mahmudullah. Brilliant fight and spirit."

Sangakkara's long time collegue Mahela Jaywardena also had words of praise for Bangladesh: Well played @BCBtigers  showed lot of maturity and credit to entire setup. Great tournament so far..#iccchampionstrophy2017."

Pakistan's Shahid Afridi praised Bangladesh on the run chase and for coming back from an awkward position: "Brillant chase Bangladesh, stunning comeback & partnership between Shakib and Mahmudullah! The #CT17 is truly alive.

Even former New Zealand man Brendon Mccullum was impressed by Bangladesh's strength and resolve. He also symphathised with his New Zealand mates and said: "Well done @BCBtigers. Stood tall under huge pressure. Hard luck to our @BLACKCAPS brothers. Wasn't meant to be this time round."
