Dhaka café attack: 5 militants killed by bullets, bombs
Five militants and a chef who were killed during the army-led joint forces' operation at Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka’s Gulshan area last year were hit by bullets and splinters, according to the forensic report.
The forensic department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) today handed over the report to police around 1:15pm, Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of forensic medicine department at DMC, told The Daily Star.
The investigation officer of the case received the report, the physician added.
Twenty hostages, mostly foreign nationals, were killed when a group of armed militants stormed the Holey Artisan Bakery on July 1 last year.
Two policemen, five militants, and a chef were also killed during the incident.
The bodies of the five militants -- Nibras Islam, Rohan Imtiaz, Meer Saameh Mubasheer, Khairul Islam Payel and Shafiqul Islam Uzzal -- and the chef, Saiful Islam, were kept at the mortuary of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for nearly three months.
As nobody claimed their bodies, Anjuman Mufidul Islam, a social welfare organisation, buried those at Jurain Graveyard on September 22 last year.
