Tagore, Lalon, Nazrul and Promila recalled

A cultural function was held at Shivalaya upazila parishad's auditorium in Manikganj on Sunday. The Nazrul-Promila Institute organised the daylong event in memory of Rabindranath Tagore, Lalon Shah, Kazi Nazrul Islam and his wife Ashalata Sen alias Promila Devi. The winners of Nazrul Talent Hunt-2017 were also awarded at the function.

Nazrul singers rendered solo songs while local artistes performed dances, rendered songs and recited from the poems.

Abdul Matin, deputy director of Local Government Division, was present at the programme as chief guest while Dr. Siddheswar Majumdar, former civil surgeon of Manikganj and Dr. Arshad Ullah, health and family planning officer of Shibalaya Upazila, were present as special guests in the first session.
