Criminal’s bail cancelled over false documents
The High Court today cancelled the bail of an accused for submitting false documents before it in an arms case.
The court also asked Humayun Kabir Jonu, the accused of the arms case to surrender before the trial court concerned in the next seven days.
Moreover, the HC asked the registrar general of the Supreme Court to file a criminal case against Jonu for committing forgery to get bail from the court.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim came up with the order during hearing a bail petition filed by Shahar Ali, another accused of the same case.
The bench also rejected the bail petition of Shahar Ali.
After examining the documents of the case, submitted by Shahar Ali, the HC judges found that Humayun Kabir Jonu secured bail from this court on February 28 this year by submitting a false FIR and a report of the seizure list in which it was said that police did not recover any arms or bullet from the possession of Jonu.
The court found in the document submitted by Shahar Ali that law enforcers recovered arms and bullets from the possession of Humayun Kabir Jonu.
Law enforcers of Mugda Police Station in Dhaka arrested four people including Jonu and Shahar Ali on November 13 last year along with arms and bullets.
The police filed an arms case against them in connection with the incident.
