Firefighters doused a fire at a jhut (scrap fabrics from garment factories) godown at Diyabari Beribadh in Dhaka’s Mirpur around two hours after it broke out this afternoon.

Four godowns were damaged in the incident, said Selimuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Darussalam Police Station, adding that no casualty was reported.

Six fire fighting units managed to douse the fire at 5:20pm that originated at the jhut godown around 3:00pm, officials at Fire Service and Civil Defence said.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
