Shakib’s Jamaica Tallawahs lose to Barbados Tridents
Barbados Tridents defeated Shakib Al Hasan’s Jamaica Tallawahs by 12 runs in the Caribbean Premier League match.
Shakib would have liked to have made the match memorable as he made his international cricket debut on August 6, 2006 - 11 years ago.
Shakib got the important wicket of Dwyane Smith with the ball, removing the dangerous batsman out leg-before-wicket. The left-armer finished with figures of four overs- 26 runs- one wicket.
Shoaib Malik scored 33 runs as Barbados Tridents reached 142 for the loss of seven wickets.
Kumar Sangakkara, who is the new captain of the Tallawahs, walked out to open the innings but was removed first ball when he sliced a Ravi Rampaul delivery to point.
Shakib who came in to bat at four didn’t have a good game with the bat. He managed to score one run before being bowled by Akeal Hosein.
Lendl Simmons, who was batting well at 53, left the very next over as an embarrassing run-out cost him his wicket.
The Tallawahs reached 130 for the loss of six wickets and fell short by 12 runs.
