Chopper lands in Kashimpur jail, ‘family’ detained

A helicopter landed inside Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur today, leading to detention of a “family” claiming to have mistakenly landed there.

Kashimpur Jail Superintendent Proshanto Kumer Bonik told The Daily Star the family of Billal Hossein, a Malaysia expatriate, was being questioned.

The family said to have rented the helicopter from Dhaka and was heading to a wedding at Konabari Kuddusnagar area in Comilla.

The helicopter’s pilot, however, mistakenly landed on the field of the school compounds of the jail, said Billal.

Billal has been residing in Malaysia for a while now and his wife is also a Malaysian citizen.
