Britain has announced an additional £25million aid to meet the urgent needs of the people in both Myanmar and Bangladesh affected by the violence in Rakhine state.

Department of International Development of UK published a press release on Thursday condemning the violence and urging Myanmar to stop it.

International Development Secretary Priti Patel reiterated her call for violence to stop after hundreds of thousands of people are forced from their homes.

"I am appalled by the allegations of gross human rights violations against large numbers of Rohingya," Priti said in the press release.

The majority of the funding will be spent in Bangladesh for those who have fled the atrocities upon them in the Myanmar state. "The UK is at the forefront of responding to the plight of the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh," the secretary of International Development stated.

Earlier, UK allotted £5.9m before the latest influx reaching over 55,000 people and additional £5m to meet the humanitarian needs of vulnerable Rohingyas in Bangladesh on September 8.
