The Boy Who Lived in a Graveyard

Heartwrenching, un-put-down-able, and deliciously dark, Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book is winner of numerous literary awards for both the work and the illustrations in them and is one of those books that can change you to the core.

Arguably one of Gaiman's finest creations, this book narrates the story of a boy named Nobody "Bod" Owens and his years in a quaint little graveyard after the brutal murder of his entire family. Apart from the mesmerizing plot, the characters are the best part of this book. Each and every character is lovable and/or fascinating in his or her own way. Despite being a novel set in and around a graveyard and about ghosts, death, and many other supernatural beings, The Graveyard Book is not really scary; on the contrary, it will make  readers dewy-eyed and may even break their hearts. Certainly, it is not a "blood-curdling penny dreadful"!

And after Bod's numerous adventures and the inevitable win of good over evil, the nearly fifteen years old hero steps out of the graveyard into a new life--leaving countless fans desperately hoping for the sequel.
