Guardiola’s ‘Pep Talk’ for the ball boy

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola looked like a man who was having a full-on temper tantrum during the first half against Crystal Palace.

The manager made no attempt to hide his displeasure at the way his team moved the ball sluggishly.

He booted his dug-out sit in frustration and then it struck him that what he must do is give some tactical instructions to none other than the ball boy.

One could be mistaken into thinking that Pep had just pulled aside a player to give him instruction before subbing him on.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Guardiola had wanted the ball boy ‘to get the ball into play more quickly.’

Pep put his arms around the boy and had a close chat with him. We forgot that the ball should be moved, in first half when the ball was in possession at the players’ feet it was not good and when that happens everything is slow and when that happens our rhythm and transitions are slow,” Guardiola said after the game

City scored soon after and went to half time with a 1-0 lead. After Leroy Sane’s opener, Rahim Sterling score twice within the hour mark.

Sergio Aguero moved one goal closer to becoming City’s all-time record goal-scorer with the fourth goal. Leroy Sane scored again in the 89th minute to give City a 5-0 victory over Palace.

Safe to assume that the Pep talk worked it’s magic. Manchester City have won their last three games 5-0, 6-0 and 5-0.
