AL’s remark on motorcade attack irrelevant: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the comments made by Awami League leaders that the attack carried out on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade was a result of internal feud is totally “irrelevant.”
“People won’t accept these comments. All news media reported who were actually led the attack,” Fakhrul said when he was visiting injured journalists at a hotel in Chittagong city.
The ruling party leaders are instigating the acts of terrorism by making such irrelevant comments over the attack, Fakhrul said.
Soon after BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade came under the attack in Feni, AL Organising Secretary Enamul Hoque Shameem said the attack is an outcome of the party’s internal feud.
Meanwhile, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader blamed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for attempting to create a volatile situation in the country in the name of relief distribution among Rohingyas.
‘Obaidul Quader led the attack’
Besides, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rivzi Ahmed today pointed finger at Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader and held him responsible for the attack on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade.
“Obaidul Quader was the mastermind of the attack. He (Quader) led the attack in line with the directives of the prime minister,” Rizvi brought the allegation while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
Describing Awami League as a great conspirator, Rizvi said the party is misleading people to divert their attentions by spreading propaganda over the attack.
Criticising the government for its failure to deal with the Rohingya issue, Rizvi said the government has plunged in the country into a deep crisis and let loose a reign of terror on its political opponent and mass media to hang on to power.
