AL men responsible for fresh attack: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today accused ruling Awami League of carried out a fresh attack on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade in Feni.
“It is now cleared who carried out the fresh attack at the same place where our motorcade came under attack on the way to Cox’s Bazar on Sunday,” he said pointing finger at the AL men.
Fakhrul, who was also with the motorcade, came up with the impromptu reaction, minutes after unidentified people reportedly set fire on two buses near the motorcade while it was crossing Feni Sadar upazila this afternoon.
“The attack is carried out aiming at disrupting Khaleda Zia safe return to Dhaka after her successful visit to Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camps. It is sorrowful,” Fakhrul told reporters condemning the attack.
Claiming that the incident took place before the law enforcers, Fakhrul said, “I believe, the law enforcers will not face any difficulties to find out the real attackers,” the BNP leader said.
Meanwhile, BNP's student front Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), announced a countrywide demonstration on Wednesday protesting the attack.
In a press statement, JCD President Rajib Ahsan and its General Secretary Akramul Hasan said the ruling Awami League activists carried out attack on Khaleda Zia again when she was returning to Dhaka.
