AG for trial of Bangabandhu, 4 leaders’ murders
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam today said the killers of four national leaders could not be given appropriate punishment due to lack of evidence.
The killers and perpetrators of four national leaders and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman should be brought to posthumous trial, he said.
The principal law officer of the state came up with the remark while talking to reporters in Louhajang of Munshiganj on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the Jail Killing Day.
The day was observed yesterday to mourn the four liberation movement heroes -- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmad, AHM Quamruzzaman and Captain M Mansur Ali.
The attorney general expressed his desire to contest the next parliamentary election as an Awami League candidate from Munshiganj-2 (Louhajang-Tongibari) constituency.
