EC announces Rangpur city polls schedule

The Election Commission today announced the schedule for Rangpur City Corporation elections, scheduled for December 21.

According to the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is November 22.

The nomination papers will be scrutinised between November 25 and 26 and the last date of withdrawal of nomination is December 3.

Rangpur Regional Election Officer Subhash Chandra Sarkar was made returning officer of the election, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda told reporters at a briefing at the Nirbachan Bhaban today.

The date for symbol allocation has been set at December 4.

Of a total of 3,88, 421 voters, 1,96, 659 are male and 1, 91, 762 female voters.
