“Shikari” staged in Mymensingh
Rangabhumi Theatre, a new platform of theatre group staged "Shikari" at Mymensingh Zila Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Friday evening.
The play, written by Mannan Hira, based on the burning issue of rape was directed by Apu Mehdi, a poet and writer. It was the second performance of the group.
xEarlier, a discussion was held marking the inaugural session of the play.
Mannan Hira, president of Bangladesh Pathnatok Parishad was the chief guest.
Secretary of Bahurupi Natya Sangstha Shahadat Hossain Khan Hilu, district cultural officer Arzu Parves, director of Sandipon Sangskritik Sangstha Mahbub Hossain Sharif spoke on the occasion, among others.
Anisuzaman Hasan, president of Rangabhumi Theatre delivered the welcome speech.
The speakers said, the play will help create awareness particularly among the young generation about the need to stop the serious social menace of sexual harassment and other forms of harassment of women.
