Bangladesh U-19 reach Asia Cup semis after defeating India
Bangladesh registered a thumping eight wicket win over defending champions India riding on an unbeaten 81 run knock from Pinak Ghosh as they topped Group A to reach the semi-final of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup.
The match was reduced to 32 over per side after rain where India posted 187 for 8 after being sent to bat as the young Tigers reached the target with four overs and eight wickets to spare.
Left hander Pinak faced 77 balls for his 81 run knock which includes six fours and three sixes while Towhid was not out on 48 off just 32 balls with four sixes and two fours at the end.
Earlier Bangladeshi bowlers managed to pick wickets at regular interval and India's Salman Khan top-scored with an unbeaten 39. Off spinner Robiul Haque picked up three wickets giving away 43 runs from his six overs while Nayeem Hasan and Afif Hossain also took two wickets each for the youth Tigers.
Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in the first semi-final at the Kinrara Academy Oval ground tomorrow while Nepal will face Afghanistan in the other semi-final on Friday.
