ACC arrests Brokerage Alliance chief for ‘amassing Tk8.5cr’

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today arrested the chairman of Brokerage Alliance Securities and Management Limited in connection with a case filed for allegedly amassing wealth amounting to Tk 8.5 crore beyond the known source of income.

A team of the anti-corruption watch dog arrested Pankaj Ray from his Dhanmondi residence this morning, ACC Deputy Assistant Director Sylvia Ferdous told The Daily Star.

The case was filed with Ramna Police Station yesterday evening, the ACC official added.

After the case was filed yesterday evening, police went to his house to arrest him but he did not open the door. The team waited in front of the house the whole night and arrested him when he opened the door finally in the morning.
