AL won’t be ousted from power forcibly: Obaidul

Ruling Awami League (AL) will not be ousted from power in a forceful way, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said today.

“AL will not be driven out of power because our party is not BNP,” Obaidul said in a programme of Dhaka South City Cooperation in the capital.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir recently at a programme called for his party men to unite and wage a movement, referring to ousting Awami League from power.

Obaidul Quader said, the countrymen did not respond to “BNP’s movement” in the last seven years. “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has shelved the word mass movement in a museum.”

He also urged his party men to take preparation for next parliamentary election and remain united before the polls.
