'2 Ansar Al Islam militants' held in N’ganj

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) claimed to have arrested two members of banned Islamist outfit Ansar Al Islam from Fatullah of Narayanganj city.

The arrestees --Foysal Hossain, 26, and M Shamim, 28, -- are active members of the banned outfit, Mohiudddin Faruquee, additional superintendents of Rab-10, told The Daily Star.

The elite force members arrested Ibrahim Khalil, a militant of Ansar Al Islam, in Chasara of Narayanganj several days back and based on his information, a team of the Rab-10 arrested Foysal and Shamim in Signboard area of Fatullah last night, said Mohiudddin.

The team also recovered huge amounts of books on Jihad, leaflets and training manuals from their possession, he added.
