HC cautions Laxmipur ADC, magistrate
Laxmipur Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Murshidul Islam and the district’s Executive Magistrate Nuruzzaman have been cautioned for jailing a civil surgeon through mobile court.
The High Court termed their actions as power abuse and ordered the government to post them in a place where there will be no opportunity for abuse mobile court’s power.
Also, the bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah exempted the duo from a rule on legality of their actions following an unconditional apology from the two.

Earlier this morning, ADC Murshid and Magistrate Nuruzzaman appeared before the High Court bench, answering to a summon, and offered apology during an explanation hearing.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Murshidul Islam was made an officer on special duty (OSD), a reprimanded posting, after former acting civil surgeon Salahuddin Sharif was jailed.
It all started from a brawl near a kindergarten school where the two guardians locked in a scuffle over who would go first through the narrow school entrance.
Following the matter, the doctor was jailed through a mobile court.
