Land minister’s son expelled from Jubo League

Jubo League has expelled land minister’s son Shirhan Sarif Tomal from the youth front of Awami League on charge of assaulting four journalists in Pabna's Ishwardi on November 29.

Tomal, who is now in jail in connection with a case filed over the assault, was Ishwardi upazila unit Jubo League president, reports our Pabna correspondent.

Jubo League President Omar Faruk Chowdhury and Secretary Harunur Rashid issued the expel order yesterday for his criminal activities that harmed the party’s decorum, said Abu Mohammd Nasim Pavel, organising secretary of Jubo League.   

Tomal along with his supporters attacked four journalists at Shahpur Natunhat in Ishwardi upazila on November, 29. A case was filed against Tomal and 30 others with Ishwardi Police Station on the day.

Yesterday, a Pabna court sent him to jail in connection with the incident.
