BNP leader Sadat shown arrested, remanded
Central BNP leader Syed Sadat Ahmed, who went missing four months ago, has been shown arrested and placed on three-day remand in connection to a blast case of 2015.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Pranab Kumar Hui passed the order after Detective Branch Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam produced him at the court with a 10-day remand prayer today.
Central executive committee member of BNP, Sadar, reportedly missing since August 22, has been shown arrested in a case field with Ramna Police Station in 2015 under the Explosive Substances Act.
Sadat’s wife Luna Ahmed lodged a complaint with Cantonment police claiming that her husband was abducted from Banani area on August 22. Later Sadat’s car was found in 300-feet area.
Since August 22, at least 12 people have gone missing from capital Dhaka. Five of them have returned while police said to have arrested five others.
