Shakib, Mushy make Cricinfo's Test team of 2017
After the duo made the Guardian Test XI and Cricket.com.au's Test XI of the year, Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim have made it into the EspnCricinfo's Test XI of the year.
Shakib Al Hasan was instrumental in Bangladesh's victory over formidable Australia in home soil where the southpaw scored 84 runs in the first innings and took 10 wickets with five wicket hauls in both innings of the first Test.
Shakib played in seven Tests, scoring 665 runs at an average of 47.50. He also took 29 Test wickets in 2017 at an average of 33.27.

Mushfiqur struck two tons in the year 2017 --159 against New Zealand at Wellington and then 127 against India at Hyderabad. The batsman scored 766 runs last year at an impressive average of 54.71. He also took 12 catches behind the stumps and has two stumpings under his belt.
Shakib was delighted for being to able to represent Bangladesh in Cricinfo's Test team of the year and wrote on his facebook: "Carrying the Bangladesh flag in the "Test Team of 2017" published by ESPN Cricinfo'! After ICC announced that Shakib was the 'runaway leader' across all formats in 2017 all-rounder rankings, his official facebook account congratulated the achievement by this fantastic cricketer who will take over the reigns of the Tigers' Test team.
