Mominul strikes ton in BCL

Mominul Haque struck an unbeaten 169 for Islami Bank East Zone on the opening day of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).

Islami Bank reached 340 for the loss of five wickets against Prime Bank South Zone as Mominul reached 169 from 207 deliveries after Islami Bank opted to bat first at the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar.

The left-hander reached his 150 in 183 deliveries. Mominul struck 18 fours and two sixes in his knock.

Walton Central Zone vs BCB North Zone

Walton Central Zone were bowled out for 188 runs against BCB North Zone on the opening day of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).

Ariful Haque bagged four wickets as Walton Central bundled out in just 56 overs, losing wickets at regular intervals. Irfan Shakkur and Taskin Ahmed's resilient tenth-wicket partnership of 60 runs allowed Walton Central to reach 188. Irfan remained unbeaten on a 55-ball 57 while Taskin played a handy knock 34 from 36 deliveries after Walton Central Zone were down to nine wickets with 122 runs on the board. Shafiul Islam and Subashish Roy picked up two wickets each.

In reply, North Zone were 93 without loss at stumps after Day 1. Nazmul Hossain was batting on 42 not out while Mizanur Rahman was unbeaten on 49.
