Trawler capsizes in Buriganga river, 1 missing

A man went missing as a trawler capsized in Buriganga river in Fatullah upazila of Narayanganj this morning.

Operation is underway to rescue missing Dudu Mia, 55, a resident of Bottali area, reports our local correspondent.

Mamunur Rashid, deputy assistant director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the trawler carrying nine people capsized when it hit another trawler in the river around 6:00am.

Eight passengers managed to swim to the shore except Dudu Mia, the official said.

Fire fighters and locals began the rescue operation around 9:00am.
