Later, the students took position in front of the vice chancellor’s office and were continuing their agitation till 3:40pm when the report was filed.
Students of most of the department have boycotted the classes for today in support of the demonstration, Tahmed Munir Tayiff, a student of Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, told The Daily Star.
“Some students (of the seven colleges) often involve in various immoral and illegal activities identifying themselves as Dhaka University students,” Tayiff alleged while talking with our DU correspondent.
Earlier, DU students claimed that they are suffering from identity crisis as the students of the seven colleges are introducing themselves as students of Dhaka University.
On February 17, 2017, the government affiliated Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Mohila College, Mirpur Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College with Dhaka University.
