Tushar reaches 10k landmark

Tushar Imran becomes the first Bangladesh player to score 10,000 first-class runs today.

The 34-year-old reached the monumental landmark when he scored 35 for Prime Bank South Zone against Walton Central Zone in a Bangladesh Cricket League game at the BKSP in Savar.

Tushar was actually batting on 40 alongside Shahriar Nafees, who was on 47, as South reached 101-2 in 28 overs after being sent into bat.

The right-handers from Jessore reached the landmark in his 154th game. With a highest score of 220 at an average of 42.02, Tushar hit 25 hundred and 53 fifties in his more than a decade of first-class career that started in 2000.

A fine batsman, who failed to excel in the international front where he played only five Tests and 41 ODIs in his stop-start career, Tushar however scored heavily in the domestic circuit especially in the longer version of the game. He struck his 25th ton, the most by a batsman, in the previous game against Islami Bank East Zone at same venue last week.

The BKSP game will see another milestone when Tushar Imran's side come out to bowl with his captain Abdur Razzak one wicket away from becoming the first bowler to take 500 first-class wickets.
