SSC exams as per prior routine if DNCC by-polls deferred

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent exams will be held as per the previous routine if the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral by-election is deferred.

The exams scheduled for February 24 and 25 will be held as per the previous routine if the DNCC mayoral election is not held on February 26, Tapan Kumar Sarkar, controller of examination of Dhaka Education Board told Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

The DNCC by-poll was scheduled for February 26 and in line with election the exam dates were reshuffled, he said. SSC and its equivalent exams will commence on February 1.

However, the High Court today stayed the by-polls for three months and issued a rule seeking explanation why the by-election process should not be declared illegal.
