Rapid Action Battalion claimed to have arrested five persons including the prime accused and alleged mastermind of the sensational Tongi double murder.

Akhtar Hossain, 35, and his cousin Ashiqur Rahman, 27, were hacked to death on December 12 last year at Dattapara in Gazipur city.  Of them, Akhtar returned home from the UAE a year before the murder while Ashiqur from Italy around six months ago.

Among the arrestees, Humayun was made prime accused in the case, a Rab official said.

The elite force members also recovered two foreign pistols, local arms and some drugs during the raid, according to a media message sent by Rab 1.

Further details regarding the incident will be disclosed at a media briefing at the Rab media centre later in the day.
