PM terms section of civil society members as dustbin
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today in parliament compared a section of civil society members with the dustbin as they always make them ready to be used whenever unconstitutional power comes in the country.
“The way the word “use me” is written in the bin besides roads, those section of civil society members always make them ready to be used by the unconstitutional or martial law government as part of their will to go to power,” Hasina said while responding to a supplementary question of reserved seat lawmaker Fazilatun Nasa Bappy.
Taking a swipe on the section of civil society members, the premier said they always dream of going to power through unconstitutional way.
“But they are unfit in the politics of vote. They do not dare to go to the people to beg the vote,” she said.
Telling a story of a donkey and a pretty girl, the premier said the donkey dreamt of marrying the girl if she fails to hold the rope during her display in the circus.
“I am not terming our civil society members as the donkey as all of them are highly educated, internationally recongnised and educated abroad. But, when we see their attitude and their desire like that of the donkey, it reminds me the story of the donkey.” she said, their dreams of assuming office through unconstitutional way would not come true.
Terming the members of the civil society as sick, the premier said it is very unfortunate for the country as they do not see the nation’s achievements and development.
“It is a kind of sickness that they cannot watch the development activities of the government,” she said, adding that the whole world acknowledges that Bangladesh has been marching quickly towards development.
Citing a Bengali song, “haire kopal manda, chokh thakite andha”, meaning (It is unfortunate that one becomes blind despite having eyes) the premier said, “They are blind and deaf despite having eyes and ears.”
Bashing the civil society members, the premier said they think that they will get importance if any unconstitutional or martial government is in power.
“They think that they will get the national flag in their vehicles if any unconstitutional government is in office,” she said.
The premier also slammed the civil society members last Wednesday during the question-answer session stipulated for the premier.
