Mushy becomes a dad
Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim, who boarded a flight to Dhaka on Sunday evening after the Chittagong Test became a father this morning following the birth of his firstborn child.
Mushfiqur's wife Jannatul Kifayet gave birth to their son at the city's Square Hospital at 9:30 am this morning. The cricketer's father Mahbub Hamid confirmed the news to The Daily Star today and said: "Mushfiq's son was born at 9:30 am this morning. The mother and son are both healthy and well."
The Chittagong Test ended in a draw yesterday as Tigers battled hard on the last day to save the Test match. The second Test at Dhaka will start from February 8 and with skipper Shakib Al Hasan out of the second Test as well due to an injury, Mushfiqur's presence in the squad becomes all the more important for the Tigers.
