Department of English of the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences of Hamdard University Bangladesh organised a workshop on "Effective English Language Teaching for Classroom Practitioners" on January 31, 2018 in the multipurpose hall of the university. The VC of the University, Prof. Md. Abdul Mannan PhD inaugurated the workshop and Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sadirul Islam moderated the session. Among others, the Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Ghulam Murtaza; the Controller of Examinations Md. Nurul Huda; Dean, Faculty of Business Administration Prof. Dr. Md. Nasim Anjum; Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Ismail Jabiullah; Head of the Department of English Mohammad Shawkat Ali, and faculty members were present at the time of inauguration.

A total of 25 Principals and English teachers from different colleges and madrasas of adjacent areas of the university participated in the workshop.
