Govt has nothing to do over Khaleda's poll ineligibility: Quader
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the government has nothing to do if BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia disqualifies for contesting the next polls following the court verdict.
"It's proved that the country will again become champion in corruption, if BNP comes in power as a convicted fugitive accused has been made BNP's acting chairman and then corruption will take an institutional shape," he said while talking to journalists at Nimtoli in Sirajdikhan upazila of the district.
The minister was visiting the area to witness the activities of a mobile court of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on the Dhaka-Mawa highway.
Sirajdikhan Upazila Chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed and concerned officials were present during his visit.
Executive Magistrate Muhammad Abdur Rahim Sujan conducted the mobile court with the assistance of law enforcers.
