CJ warns SC officials against corruption
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain today warned the Supreme Court officials and employees saying that stern action will be taken if any of them are involved with corruption and irregularities.
The Supreme Court officials have to discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity and any irregularities will not be tolerated, he said, few SC officials requesting anonymity told The Daily Star.
The CJ made this warning at a courtesy meeting with the SC officials and employees at the SC auditorium this afternoon.
He also urged the officials and employees to perform their functions in such a manner so that the reputation and goodwill of the SC are not damaged.
The acting registrar general of the SC Md Zakir Hossain told this correspondent that the CJ has given some directives to the SC officials so that they work with sincerity and honesty. However, he did not disclose the details of CJ’s speech saying that the meeting was an internal affair of the SC.
No reporters were allowed at the meeting.
