‘Tarot Baba’ held over charges of fraudulence
Police today claimed arrest of a fraud, who says he deals with supernatural entities, over charges of cheating people from Dhaka.
The arrestee was identified as MM Jahangir Reza, alias Radbi Reza, or more commonly known as ‘Tarot Baba’, hailing from Sunamganj.
A team of CID arrested Radbi yesterday in Farmgate, Dhaka, Molla Nazrul Islam, special superintendent of CID, told reporters at his office.
The police official said, Radbi joined ABC Radio on October, 2016 as a “paranormal researcher” and gained fame from a programme ‘Daar’ (fear).
He has been arrested in a case filed under section-57 of Information Communication Technology Act 2006 (amendment 2013). A Dhaka court has granted police to quiz him in custody for two days.
He was earlier arrested with 20 twenty stolen motorbikes on January 14, 2012.
ABC Radio’s Head of Operations Ehsanul Huq Titu The Daily Star that Radbi joined the prgramme as a guest and was ousted after allegations of swindling surfaced against him.
