Shakib in Sri Lanka to inspire Tigers
Bangladesh's all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan visits Sri Lanka to inspire the Tigers' ahead of Bangladesh's opening match in the Nidahas Trophy tournament.
The all-rounder had been out injured since the final of the tri-series in Dhaka and much has been said about how the Tigers will cope without their ace all-rounder, who is also the captain of the T20 side.
The all-rounder arrived in Colombo on Tuesday on the opening day of the tournament. He flew in from Dhaka to motivate and inspire the Tigers even as he would not be able to play in the tournament. He was present during Tigers' practice session at the Premadasa Stadium yesterday.
Stand-in skipper Mahmudullah Riyad opined that the whole team was energized by the all-rounder's presence.
"Yes, Shakib is in Sri Lanka. He came yesterday and is with the squad. It's a good thing to have him here with us. He is here to say something to the players," Mahmudullah informed.
Shakib is expected to fly back to Dhaka on Wednesday night.
