US-Bangla plane crash: Control room opens at Dhaka airport
A control room has been opened at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka to provide necessary information and counselling to the families of the victims of the US-Bangla Airlines plane crash.
Additional Secretary to the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Md Mohsin today said top officials of the ministry will be performing duty at the control room to provide all kinds of assistance to the victims' families.
The control room will remain in operation until all the injured and the bodies of Bangladeshi nationals killed in the plane crash are brought home, he said, adding that the control room will take steps to take back the bodies to their respective village homes if necessary.
Quoting Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Mohsin said the families of the victims will get compensation as all of them had been covered by insurance according to the US-Bangla Airlines.
At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, were killed when the US-Bangla flight from Dhaka crashed in Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport yesterday.
