Shameem Ahsan new Bangladesh envoy to Nigeria
The government has decided to appoint M Shameem Ahsan as the new Bangladeshi ambassador to Nigeria, said a foreign ministry release today.
He is currently serving as Consul General of Bangladesh in New York.
M Shameem Ahsan, a career diplomat of 11th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service, joined the Foreign Service in April 1993.
In his diplomatic career, he served in Bangladesh Missions at Washington DC, Rome, Nairobi, Doha and Kuwait in different capacities. He also represented Bangladesh in numerous international conferences.
Shameem completed his Masters and Honors in Political Science from University of Dhaka. He also completed National Defence Course (NDC) on security, strategic and development issues from the National Defence College.
He also completed Arabic Language Course at the University of Kuwait in 1997.
M Shameem Ahsan was closely associated with the publication of “Liberation War: Friends of Bangladesh” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
