Baki astounds with his stillness
Bangladesh’s Abdullah Al Baki clinched a silver medal with a score of 244.7 in the 10m air rifle event of the Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast and the stillness of his posture amazed many.
A video released by Perthnow is making the rounds and Baki stayed so still while getting ready for his shot that the video looks like a photo.
#CommonwealthGames2018: Bangladesh shooter Abdullah Hel Baki stays so still you’d swear this video is a photo. https://t.co/OJdaHuVBfq pic.twitter.com/Jj4gm2JpYX PerthNow (@perthnow) April 8, 2018
Perthnow commented on the level of concentration and said: "It’s a level of concentration that no amount of coffee or Red Bull could provide.”
The Bangladesh shooter stood motionless to take the shot and the only evidence that the video was not infact a photo was because a spectator’s foot was moving in the background.
Baki fell just 0.3 short of matching Australian Dane Sampson’s score of 245, who won the gold medal. Although, shooters are allowed to use specialised clothing to improve balance and stabily, however Baki’s motionless stance did not seize to amaze.
“The man is practically a statue,” Perthnow added.
