Ramos acknowledges ‘Iniesta’s clasico’
Andres Iniesta, the Barcelona and Spain legend locked horns with Real Madrid in his final clasico last Sunday. Iniesta, who recently recovered from injury, was taken off in the 58th minute of the game as he was applauded by the Camp Nou crowd for all the great memories he provided to the club and the fans previously in this very fixture.
Sadly, there was no final victory for the man himself but Barcelona continued their unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw in the league.
Nevertheless, it was a special clasico for the 33-year old Spaniard and he chose not to keep the shirt he wore during the match, instead handing it to the Real Madrid skipper and long-time Spain teammate Sergio Ramos.
Más allá de lo sucedido en el terreno de juego, el de ayer será recordado como el #Clásico de @andresiniesta8, un clásico de verdad. Se te echará de menos, amigo

Iniesta left an emotional message on the shirt addressing the good moments with Ramos both as teammates and rivals as he penned: "For my teammate, here's to our many moments together and others as rivals. Thank you and good luck!"
After a typical feisty encounter between the two giants, Ramos showed his class by posting a lovely message in social media acknowledging the fact that this clasico should be remembered as Iniesta’s clasico.
"Beyond what happened on the pitch, last night's will be remembered as Iniesta's Clásico. You will be missed, my friend," Ramos posted with a picture of him holding Iniesta’s shirt.
Indeed, a great gesture by the two rival captains.
