Beef price per kg Tk 450, mutton Tk 720 for Ramadan
Ahead of the Ramadan, the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) authorities today fixed the price of beef per kilogramme at Tk 450, which is Tk 25 less than that of last Ramadan.
The price of buffalo has been fixed per kg at Tk 420 while mutton (khashi) at Tk 720, and lamb and mutton (bokri) at Tk 600 each.
The decision came in a meeting between the DSCC and the meat sellers at Nagar Bhaban in Dhaka with DSCC mayor Sayeed Khokon in the chair.
Sayeed Khokon later told reporters that the prices will be applicable for all kitchen markets, including super shop, under the city corporation.
Responding to a query whether the meat traders under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will maintain the prices, the mayor said “normally they will follow us. The red meat prices of the two city corporations were same the last Ramadan.”
He also said they will take legal action against the traders, who will disobey the prices fixed for Ramadan.
DSCC Chief Executive Officer Khan Mohammad Bilal and its Chief Health Officer Brig Gen Sheikh Salahuddin, among others, were present in the meeting.
