BNP candidate demands withdrawal of police high ups in Khulna
BNP mayoral candidate in Khulna City Corporation Nazrul Islam Manzu today demanded immediate withdrawal of Khulna police commissioner, deputy commissioner of Detective Branch of police and officer-in-charge of its six police stations for the sake of holding the tomorrow's election in a free and fair manner.
"Tomorrow's election will be a stage managed one if these police high ups are not withdrawn immediately," Manzu made the demand while meeting with Returning Officer Md Yunus Ali at his office in the city around 8:30pm.
All the administrative bigwigs are playing a biased role to ensure victory of the Awami League mayoral candidate, Manzu brought the allegation showing some instances of their partisan roles in favour of the Awami League candidate.
Law enforcement agencies are arresting and harassing BNP leaders, activists, workers and supporters without any specific allegation hours before the election, Manzu told the EC official.
He also termed the election commission as worthless for its inaction despite having allegations of partisan roles of the government high officials.
