2 killed in 'shootout' with Rab in Ctg
Two people were killed in a “gunfight” between alleged drug dealers and Rapid Action Battalion personnel in Chittagong city's Barishal Colony around 11:40pm yesterday.
Deputy Director Ashequr Rahman of Rab-7 told The Daily Star that when Rab started a drive in the colony under Sadarghat Police Station following a tip-off, the “gunfight” ensued.
After the “gunfight”, Rab found two bullet-riddled bodies on the spot, said Rab-7's Media Wing Senior Assistant Director Mimtanur Rahman, adding that yaba, Phensidyle and firearms were recovered from the spot.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
As of filing of this report at 12:30am today, the bodies were at the spot, while Rab personnel were continuing their raid.
