HC gets 18 new HC judges
Eighteen additional judges were appointed to the High Court Division of Supreme Court today, raising the number of HC judges to 98.
President Abdul Hamid made the appointments for two years in line with Article 98 of the constitution, Law Minister Anisul Huq told The Daily Star.
He also said a gazette notification will be issued soon containing the names of new HC judges.
The names of the 18 newly appointed judges, provided by Law Ministry Deputy Secretary Mahbubar Rahman Sarker to The Daily Star, are as follows:
1. Md Abu Ahmed Zomadar (Former District Judge), Member of International Crime Tribunal, Dhaka
2. Md Mostafizur Rahman, Additional Secretary (District Judge with enjoying PRL), Law and Justice Division
3. Fatema Najib, District and Session Judge, Narsingdi
4. Md Kamrul Hossain Molla, Metropolitan Session Judge, Dhaka
5. SM Kuddus Zaman, District and Session Judge, Dhaka
6. Md Atowar Rahman, Divisional Special Judge, Dhaka
7. SM Abdul Mobin, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court
8. Khijir Hayat, Deputy Attorney General, Bangladesh
9. Shoshangko Shekhor Sarker, Deputy Attorney general, Bangladesh
