AL extended meeting June 23
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of ruling Awami League, will hold an extended meeting with the party's rank and file at her official residence Gano Bhaban on June 23 to convey important messages to her party men ahead of the upcoming city corporation and general elections.
Presided over by Sheikh Hasina, the extended meeting is scheduled to be held at the Gano Bhaban around 11:00am, said a press release of the party.
The leaders of the party's central working committee, advisory council and national committee, district, city and upazila units' presidents and secretaries, and parliament members have been asked to attend the meeting, the press release read.

Presidents and secretaries of all units of Dhaka North and South city corporations and presidents and secretaries of the party's all fronts and associate bodies have also been asked to attend the meeting, according to the release.
The country's latest political situation, the government's achievements and developments, peace and progress will also be discussed at the meeting, according to the party insiders.
AL to celebrate 69th founding anniversary on June 23
Awami League, the country's oldest political party which led the nation in the Liberation War in 1971, will observe its 69th founding anniversary on June 23 in a befitting manner.
The party has chalked out elaborate programmes including placing floral wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation on the premises of Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi road No 32 in Dhaka.
The national and political flags will be hoisted in front of the party's central office at Bangabandhu Avenue while Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the party's newly constructed central office building on this occasion.
