Give MPO facilities to 43 teachers immediately: HC

The High Court today directed the government to immediately give monthly payment order (MPO) facilities to 43 teachers of different schools and colleges across the country.

The bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali came up with the directive following four separate writ petitions filed by 43 teachers of the institutions seeking necessary orders.

Petitioners’ lawyer Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah Miah told The Daily Star that his clients have been discharging duties as teachers at different private schools and colleges for long periods of time.

But they are not being paid under MPO facilities although most of their colleagues are given the facilities, he added.

Earlier on March 22 this year, the HC had directed the government to give MPO facilities to 308 teachers of different schools and colleges across the country.
