A fire broke out at Hasina market in Dhaka’s kitchen market Karwan Bazar this afternoon.

The fire broke out at a restaurant in the tin-shed building market around 4:30pm, sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters told The Daily Star.

On information, nine fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control nearly one hour of frantic efforts.

The fire was caused by a gas cylinder leak at the restaurant, Uttar Karwan Bazar Babosayee Janakalyan Samity (Hasina market) General Secretary Jamal Uddin Babul told The Daily Star.
