Man dies as bus hits him at Shahbagh

A man died after he was hit by a bus in Shahbagh area of Dhaka this morning.

Omar Faruk, 50, was declared dead after he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sub- Inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police outpost told The Daily Star.

The bus knocked him down when he was crossing the road around 10:45am, Bachchu Miah said.

Omar Faruk was crossing the road to meet his wife who was waiting for him in front of Birdem Hospital, the official said.

Quoting his relatives, Bachchu Miah said, Omar Faruk along with his wife came to Dhaka yesterday for his wife’s treatment and was staying at a relative’s house in Jatrbari.
