Acid attack burns man in Mirpur, 1 held

A 45-year-old man was severely injured as an alleged drug addict threw acid on him at a Biharicampin Mirpur yesterday.

Victim Mohammad Parvez, 45, is attending treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

According to the victim, Parvez and Jonny got into a fight during Ramadan. At that time, Jony, a heroin addict, said to have stabbed Pervez with a pair of scissors.

Pervez took help from locals and handed Jonny over to police, said Dadan Fakir, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station. He got released shortly afterwards.

Apparently to take revenge, yesterday evening, Jony attacked Pervez and threw acid on him.

Locals apprehended Jony and handed him over to Pallabi police.
