Thisara strikes ton as Lankans down Bangladesh A
Bangladesh A lose the second one-day by 67 runs against Sri Lanka A to tie series 1-1.
A swashbuckling ton from all-rounder Thisara Perera ensured a Sri Lanka A victory over Bangladesh A today at Sylhet in the second one-day.
Having won the toss, Sri Lanka A opted to bat first but were in trouble losing seven wickets for just 129 runs. Spinners Nayeem Hasan and Sunzamul Islam picked up wickets at regular intervals as Lankans struggled against spin, that is until Perera started to show his mettle.
The all-rounder, coming down to bat at five-down smashed an 88-ball 111 with nine fours and five sixes. He starred in a eighth-wicket 77-run partnership with Malinda Pushpakumara to stabilize the Lankan innings.
He fell in the 47th over with the score on 250 but Shehan Madushanka's run-a-ball 36 took Sri Lanka A to 275, losing all ten wickets. Nayeem took three wickets for 42 runs in ten overs while Sunzamul bagged two wickets in four overs for 21 runs.
Bangladesh A top-order and middle order all got starts but were not able to capitalize as Sri Lanka A picked up wickets in regular intervals. Soumya Sarkar fell early once more, scoring 12 off five deliveries.
Al Amin scored a team-high 46 off 65 deliveries while Sri Lanka A's Pushpakumara and Nishan Peiris each bagged three wickets as Bangladesh A were bowled out for 208.
